And you thought your family was weird-The arrival of the chocolate cake party

I am sure every little kid out there has a sneaking suspicion that they are adopted. It may be because they are the black sheep of the family, they don't want to be associated with the family name or purely because they are way too embarrassed to be a part of their antics.

All of the above basically explain me except for the fact that I am usually amongst the embarrassing family antics and at one point along the way egg them on to a point of no return. I have now trudged the hard path to realisation and acceptance of the fact that I am a Segal and yes we are nuts.

This brings me to a recent family event at Chez Segal or at least Chez Alan Segal.

Thanks to a nifty friend of mine earlier in the month I received an amazing, delicious gift. It looked a little like this:

The delicious Sacher Torte, postage delivered from Vienna (via DHL postage warehouse for several days)

On the arrival of such a gift most famillies would sit down, discuss the lovely sheen of the chocolate, cut the cake and dig in. Not the Segals. We had better things to do.

Such as a 30 minute photo shoot, allowing each of us to pose with the cake.

When we finally ate it- it was AMAZINGLY amazing, too bad Anna and I polished it off in the middle of the night after work and a long-awaited drinking spree.

Thanks nifty friend! :)
