| i swear dinosaurs live here |
Finally back in one of my favourite places in the world. I don't know what it is about New Zealand, perhaps the treeless mountain down south that remind me of dinosaurs or the friendly people you meet at every turn- either way- I am so happy to be here!
I landed in Christchurch and was met at the airport by the one and only
Charlie Lyons- professional skier as well as mad snow forecaster. There was snow coming in on the radar and he was frothing at the bit. While staying up in Christchurch to race after pow at the club fields would have been epic, I had a date with a helicopter.

I snagged a lift down to Wanaka with Mr Dion Newport. It was a relaxing, scenic drive with only a few minutes of smoking car parts to keep us on our toes.

After arriving to my new home for the next few weeks, followed by a mandatory day off full of clouds and snow, we took ourselves down to Lake Hawea for the start of the
2012 World Heli Challenge.
This year I have been luckily enough to secure a spot in the World Heli Challenge with the support of
ION cameras. It's an amazing opportunity to fly in helicopters around some of the most amazing terrain out there as well as test out ION's new products!

The WHC officially kicked off yesterday, however it looks like we won't be flying until later on next week after (hopefully) another storm laden with clouds and pow pow. Stay tuned, already much TC shredding has been taking place.
