Swim for Life

After leaving high school, it's always funny to bump into people you used to spend everyday with- those kids who you spent mornings slaving away at math equations and afternoons trying to remember what Hamlet said before he died.......

Well one person I am always stoked to bump into is Amanda Drennan....she is always up to something new and interesting and this time something pretty spectacular.

Amanda spent her high school career training to be a paralympic swimmer. Her training paid off and since then she has become a dual paralympian.

This year Amanda set her sights even higher, tomorrow, Aussie time, Amanda is going to commence a 65km swim around Phillip Island in attempt to raise funds to build a local hospital on the island as the next closest hospital to this summer tourist destination is currently 40km away...........oh did I mention that the waters around Phillip Island are infested by sharks???

Check out Amanda's video to get the full story! Or check out her blog to donate to the cause: http://swimforlifephillipisland.blogspot.com/.
