Vanessa Aadland and I traversed 3 states multiple times in those five hrs, drained our voices from singing and meet a few deer along the way....all to visit the little mecca where Powder Magazine had decided to take over for 'Powder Week'. A week of ski testing the ski industries latest and greatest creations!
Jackson Hole has been on my agenda for a long time, but it is a little hard to get to from the great land of Aus......luckily anything is possible in the US of A, all you need is a car, some snacks, Vanessa- a kick ass buddy to drive with and Julie- a lovely lady to offer you amazing hospitality...............
......However, stumbling on all of these things at the same time is a lot more rare. That is why I looked like this for most of the trip.........
excited out of my treeVanessa, Julie and I spent the first day perusing the Powder Week ski tent and trying out some new skis. I went on a little shred-mission with Jeff and Mike from Liberty Skis (with a pair of 182cm Double Helixs in tow- GOD SKIS) as well as a few hikes around the great ski are that is the Hole (valley) of Jackson. It was all topped off with the Powder Week party at Calico and a lot of disco dancing.
Wicked fun!.....But the best part of the trip was skiing around with new and old friends........ Julie Weinberger showed us around, her expect knowledge leading us into wild and wonderful places that some of the locals had never seen.....While my goood ole' buddy James accompanied us on some ridiculously steep boot packs, encouraging us through out hangovers and cement-like snow.....I have read it before but I will say it again, even though the adage goes 'no friends on a powder day', I think I will stick by my buddies, they make the powder day even better.
Next day, with the sun on our backs, and a few small headaches, Julie, Vanessa, James and I went on a little shred- tour in the hopes to find some adventures......we found them.....steep mean ones that definitely woke me up!

After a few sunny love laps, James and I headed over to Four Pines for one last round. The snow was light. lush and pillow-like......Thanks guys for a kick ass trip.
