Media hype is amazing, what is even more amazing is Andrew Bolt's recent post on blog at the Herald Sun ....

....he also posted one earlier on Thursday......

As always the most interesting section of the whole article are the reader comments.
I have always held the opinion that Australians are fairly open minded- but after reading these two columns I see how wrong I was.......
It is not that I necessarily disagree with Andrew Bolt's discussion in the post, in which he points out " that so many artists have tried her caper already that they’ve finally managed to shock us not into silence, but indifference. "
However, I am amazed the limited perspectives that his readers display. The minute they see 'poo' or 'faeces' they immediately get on their high horse and start whining about funding for the arts and the disgrace of our universities, in the sense that they teach us how to produce this kind of 'crap'.
Hahaha pardon the pun.
"The sad thing is the academic who defends her. It just shows where our universities have descended to,"
Personally, I don't think you need to be an academic to defend Georgie's 'poo art'. I am bias as I attend the same university as her but maybe the commentators could take a step back and look at her intentions behind creating the artwork before they assume that all she desires is money, fame and shock-value.
Furthermore, they may even enjoy going to see the exhibition, where they will discover the work itself is not as ghastly as it sounds.
Maybe they will even like it.
