New skis in slush.

Generally, when I jump in my car to head off to the snow, I am pretty damn excited. It is the highlight of my week. This last week the weather forecasts definitely tested my spirit. I expected a wet, miserable weekend.

As always- expectations are best left at home: this weekend was awesome fun.

Saturday began with an estimate of 100ml of rain and a landslide.......................................... During this time, I was busy building the lip of a double stage cliff hit for the Chicks with Stix 'Spring Throwdown' freeride event.

Despite the adverse conditions, this event- Zoe's brainchild, went ahead with success. Thanks to the amazing Chicks with stix team, TBR and the courageous lady competitors who stood around, competed and threw down in torrential rain and sticky snow.

We saw girls, speed down chutes like cannonballs and stomp cliffs as it were no trouble at all. Another example of what girls will do when they are given a platform to push their limits.

Care of Roxy, all the girls were rewarded for their aggression and went home with prizes. All the results and highlights will soon be posted to the Chicks facebook page and blog.

Saturday was not the only high-point......

Chicks with Stix came and went followed by a mellow afternoon, a trip to the Kooroora in a leopard print skivy and a short but sweet sleep.

The lifts came off wind-hold and on Sunday I actually went skiing. Not just skiing but skiing on my new skis care of Liberty Skis Australia.

......this was my facial expression all day.

Let me introduce my new skis....the JINX. My best description would be a major contradiction "stiff yet flexible"......I had no idea what to expect but they made me feel like I had springs under my skis. I had heard good things but I actually couldn't believe that a ski made out of bamboo could be soo strong and light-I am excited---imagine what their big brothers will be like!

Sunday's skiing consisted of rain, snow, deep slush, mini drops, carve turns and a Xtreme grom comp underneath the Wombat chair.....showtime.......at least 7 hrs of fun.....even APSI training wasn't too bad.

The rain and cold couldn't bring me down-------new fun skis, ripping groms and Joey, Andrew and Jock for company. YEAH BULLER.

Next weekend is most likely my last weekend at Buller....i am looking forward for the spring in Melbourne and summer skiing but as always I'm gonna miss buller.
