At Brighton with Liberty Skis

I figure that when you go to a new place there is nothing better than seeing as much as you can at the start- working from the outside in, so you don't miss anything. It is the same with new terrain, it is always great to have a chance to look at all your options before you devote yourself to one.

Yesterday I got the chance to head up to Brighton ski resort, one of the many that are only a 30min bus ride from Salt Lake. The Liberty Demo tour, manned by Jeff Price and Dan, was out in style introducing the new season skis to the public and having lil' shred of their own.

The Liberty Demo Van: Squally- the child of WALL-E and a squall that terrorized the van somewhere near Winter Park.........What a sicko on the back door.

In the morning Jeff and I were lucky enough to be shown around the Brighton backcountry by Mike Corrigan, who taught me all kinds of cool things about the local mountains and my edges.

Being the excitable person I am, I refused to stop and take photos except when I was not skiing. So documentation will have to be found here on the Liberty site.

I did, however, have the chance to take a photo of the epic Double Helix 174cm (powered by stealth rocker) I skied on all afternoon. I professed my undying love for them, skied them and then lost them back to the demo van. I don't think I will be the same until we meet again.

Double Helix... I got my demo on.

Brighton getting ready for some night skiing action

The coolest part about Brighton is that there is night skiing every night- the whole mountain lights up and starts to look like a little fairy land at about 5pm. I tried hard to stay out past dark but I bailed before the sunset---- my fingers were just not man enough.

And the day was finished with a rhythmic ride home in Squally.................I am such a sucker for mountain views...............
