Spring Missions: Wolverine

looking down into wolverine

Two weeks left of glorious Utah snow for me! I have been on a little bit of an adventure frenzy, trying to get my fix before I head home...to more winter.

Monday: Alta Backcountry (Sunset and Wolverine)

After a super lazy morning, Alex Taran and I set out up LCC to find some pow and hopefully some friends to come skiing with us at Wolverine Cirque.

We started at the top of Supreme and traversed over to Sunset, where we found Mr Ben Wheeler, Mr Brant and Mr Nick, hanging our and filming a few lines. Alex and I were quick to jump on the hiking-pow skiing band wagon and found a line to shred from the top.
It was my first back-country filming experience, so it was pretty fun knowing that the awesome, split second turns were going to be saved on a little memory card.

After a slow hike back up to the ridge, we headed up a steep but short boot-pack up to Wolverine, a well known mini- golf cirque that has some wicked lines and oversized cornices.

Being my first visit, Alex and I decided to take a mellow powder line down grandma chute.

After sitting and taking in the beautiful terrain we just skied, we slowly made our way up to Catherine's pass and down grizzly to Alta for some pizza, beer and whiskey at the P-dog.
