The Beginning- The Parisian meander

Paris. It is has so many connotations attached to it that I don't know where to start. So I will start with what I didn’t do, to get the disappointment outta’ the way.

I did not climb the Eiffel tower.
I did not visit the Louvre
Versailles never made its way onto the daily agenda
I did not go out to eat any truly delicious French meals, except for the kick-ass tuna bakes and omelettes I made at Chez Nicholas Esser’s apartment (my accommodation in Paris).
And I definitely did not spend any money on Christmas present or post- Christmas sales. Although on my last day I may have bought some clothes…ergg......

Instead I went meandering. I walked and walked and walked. I decided not to waste money on a map so I got lost.....A LOT....but know I am satisfied that I can navigate myself around Paris.....after about a week I found a little map on the ground, sitting waiting for an owner, fate you can say. It gave me a new meaning to the concept of recyling!

This me and Nick on the very efficient Parisian public transport system. Really!- Melbourne has a lot to learn from this baby, it purrs like a kitten and stinks like must and pee! I loved it. Nick evidently is also very excited by the parisian metro.

Getting creative, trying to take interesting photos of myself

Place Charles de Gaulle- it made me happy to see that there was some soul in the over-visted tourist destinations

Outside the modern museum of art, a must go check out place, this is my favourite art work that I have seen so far...

SACRE COEUR.....I came here three times, there is something about white churches on hills, which have round domes, that makes me reaklly excited.

I find tourist attractions interesting because you will travel and struggle so hard to find them and see them and most of the time it is not the place that you are looking for but really the experience, so you can say- I went to Sacre Coeur,I climbed that hill. I saw a church with white round domes and then I walked away after about 10 minutes....funny huh!

The only thing better than Sacre Coeur was the friend I made starring at the smoggy city.I think he is spanish, nonetheless we had a great conversation.
