So for anyone who didn't know I'll be in Chamonix 'till June.
I arrived in the middle of Jan not quite sure of my next move and somewhat lost.also without my skis (this is another story).- Go Nat- All I knew was I wanted to spend the season near snow and that Chamonix had lots of that....it was a good match.
Things are pretty expensive here and on the first day it seemed that I would be sleeping in barn because all the hostels were way out of my price range.......
Outside Ski Station after a fresh dump
And then I found Ski Station. Owned by the one and only Veronique, equipped with her faithful chien Belle-Amie (beautiful friend), she offers 12,50 euro a night accomodation with a kitchen, sometimes hot showers and the possibility of meeting some wizard and strange people. If you are ever in Chamonix, need a place to stay, Ski Staion next to Brevent is the place to be. I don't like it,I love it.
All alone, no ski gear (for a week) and no new powder snow. .....eeep....everyone is out skiing...dang.No matter. I spent my first in Cham and by the next morning decided to stay for the season.....being in a ski resort without skis was frustrating but I found other things to do.
Walking in the forest
Mr Kalle from Sweden showed me about... walking when i craved fresh air
It's was pretty fun making friends at ski station. With people arriving and departing almost everyday, there were kids from every country- always up for skiing or drinking, usually both.
I shared a room with a killer lady from Sheffield- Wendy

Wendy and her fun friend tom somehow turned a ski holiday in France into a medical placement for university (crazy english folk).
Wendy put me to shame with her go hard or go home party attitude. But we still found fun, including a stoned cat @ monkey bar.

The big pot of tahini I bought before arriving in Cham and my slight resemblance to an Israeli singer......quickly lead me in to company of my two new soul brothers. Gal and Ofer, the larger part of team Israel.
OFER
GAL
Boof Brigade
woooooah! . these two beauties showed me all i needed to know about eating, skiing and taking the bus in Chamonix.
Rule #1- It is necessary to go to more than one supermarket to find cheap food. Shop well and don't spend to much.
Rule #2- A seat on the bus home is more important than taking the first bus home, alternatively stop skiing early to avoid the rush from grands montets.
Rule #3- be careful when you ask Israelis to teach you Hebrew, it is mother flippin' difficult to pronounce.
Rule #4- Tahini is actually called Trina and it is used for making hummus and delicious salad dressings------it is not for breakfast (I broke this rule and even with out tahini i break it in my mind)
First Day Skiing!!!! woop woop
We cooked, drank copious amounts of 1,50 euro bottled wine, went to open mike night and skied.
Although we didn't always see things the same way it was so fun to have people to disagree and sing with.
You two rock my world.....Unfortunately Gal tore his acl and is back home :( Chamonix misses you). Ofer is still here making me damn special coffee with spices, being weird, hitting the park and cooking up home-made hummus.

I told you tahini is not for breakfast!
